What you will do (highlights)
As FAO Representative, you will:
- Represent and advocate FAO’s mandate with government counterparts, partners, and stakeholders.
- Lead FAO’s contributions to national priorities and SDG acceleration through the CPF/UNSDCF.
- Build strategic partnerships and mobilize extrabudgetary resources.
- Ensure effective programme delivery, compliance, monitoring, and reporting.
- Manage the Country Office’s people, finances, controls, and staff safety/security, and promote FAO’s integrity and zero-tolerance standards.
Minimum requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in a relevant area (agriculture, forestry, fisheries, rural development, etc.).
- 10 years of relevant experience in planning, formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of field programmes.
- English (Level C) + another FAO official language (Level B) (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
- Strong leadership competencies (results focus, communication, strategic thinking, partnering/advocacy, knowledge sharing).
