T𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘤𝘬 𝘌𝘹𝘩𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘢𝘴 𝘋𝘑𝘖𝘜𝘓𝘋𝘌 𝘋𝘈𝘉𝘉𝘈𝘋𝘑𝘐, 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘕𝘋𝘑𝘈𝘓𝘉𝘈𝘙𝘒𝘌- 𝘕𝘨𝘢𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 12𝘵𝘩 𝘋𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 2025.
The theme highlighted for the exhibition was; Import- substation, a Guarantee for the Development of the Dairy Sector in Cameroon.
Activities for the two-day event began with scientific presentations under the watchful eyes of the Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries, Dr. TAÏGA The Livestock Development Fund for the North (CDEN), Society for the Development of Animal Production (SODEPA), CEBEHVIRA and VERTILOG took the floor to present opportunities of import- substitution to stakeholders present.
The opening ceremony of the 9th edition of the Livestock Exhibition saw the participation of two (200) hundred exhibitors with the presence of stakeholders from Nigeria, Chad, Central African Republic and Congo. This was the first time the event was organized on the new site in NDJALBARKE, about 15 kilometers from Ngaoundere. Exotic and local animals including Montbéliard cows were exhibited. Small ruminants, camels and chicken were also on display. Yoghurt and milk were largely exhibited and sold at subsidized prices. Agricultural machinery was paraded for the promotion of mechanized agriculture. Auction sales of cattle of all breeds added color and spark to the event.
Dr. Taiga made a clarion call to all stakeholders in the dairy sector, to improve their performance and take advantage of government’s support to farmers. He cited among others, the opportunities of Import- substitution, which constitutes the re-dynamization and transformation of local dairy products, giving way for the employment of women and youths.
The closing ceremony was marked by the award of prizes and attestation of excellence to the best exhibitors. The best animal weighed over one thousand kilo grams (1000kg).
